Tivo Bolt and Mini does not work when connected to TL-SG2424

I have a TL-SG2424 with a stock configuration (unboxed, plugged in, connected to router, that's it). Everything else I have connected to it (Sonos, PCs, Macs) works fine. When I connect a Tivo Bolt and Mini the Mini cannot see the Bolt, I get a generic V70 (cannot find DVR) error message on the Mini. If I move them both to the switch built into my wifi router they work fine. Tivo support unhelpfully suggests I get another switch as they can only say that "sometime switches 'cause' problems" and they do not have any documentation on their real network requirements. I have to believe this is a relatively simple fix but I'm not sure what. Anyone else out there come across this?
