Athentication free limited to 32 entries
Athentication free limited to 32 entries

Hello,
I was wondering if TPLINK could expand the entries for the Authentication-free List in the Portal Settings. Currently it only caters 32 entries both Mac or IP entries. This would be really helpful if entries would be expanded or maybe unlimited.
Does anyone knows any work-around on this limit. I am managing a Portal-Local User internet provider.
And does anyone knows how to do the settings where we can set an athentication timeout? I dont see the setting when in using LOCAL USER.
Thanks guys!

Hello @Vincent-TP. Thanks for the support. Somehow I managed to pass more than 32 entries. I am now at 43 entries and the +Add button on the top right is still active. Let's see when I will hit the wall. Hope it will keep going. Cheers!

Hi @Cebujohn
Those TVs presumably belong to your hotel, right?
Generally, devices will remember a network after connecting to an SSID for the first time and automatically reconnect upon each subsequent startup.
Here are two security recommendations:
- Set a complex password for the TV SSID to prevent unauthorized access
- Hide the TV SSID entirely so guests can't discover or use it
Implementation:
- These TVs are hotel property (fixed assets)
- No guest should need to configure TV network settings
- Your hotel IT staff must pre-configure all TV network connections

This is the scenario --- i manage internet access of a condominum. each unit with eaps installed with 1 SSID. I control their subscription thru LOCAL USER. It blocks them if its expired when they have not paid for it.... If i use separate SSIDs for TVs and etc, if their authentication is expired ...they will can easily connect to the SSID for TV to gain internet access since it has no authentication.

Hello @Cebujohn. I just updated the controller firmware to beta. You can do it by going to setting>> system setting>> scroll down and enable join early access program. I believe the feature will be rolled out in upcoming firmware. Good luck. Cheers.
