Model: EAP615-Wall   EAP225-Wall
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

I have a small Omada network that has a EAP615 v1 1.2.4 ap in one building and a EAP225 v2 5.0.3 in the other building. A Google Pixel 7 phone will only connect to the AP it originally connects with and refuses to connect to the other AP unless the network is forgotten. The phone will show different errors with messages like "Unable to connect with current security settings". To be clear, it can connect to each AP, but then will not connect to the other AP automatically afterwards.

Is there a solution to this problem?

This problem is easy to replicate on this small network with the one phone but I have also encountered it on a larger hotel network with guest phones, so it appears there in a incompatibility between Omada and at least some Android phones, specifically Google Pixel 7 Pro.

I have a pixel 7a and that phone never has any wifi issues with any network, I work with networks so I have connected to many different networks with that phone. You don't say anything about how you have configured your SSID or network, do you have any screenshots of your configuration?

You can also try resetting the WiFi on your Pixel phone in the Settings menu on your phone.

I have tried resetting the phone. I believe the problem is on the 225 it connects with "WPA/WPA-2 Personal" while on the 615 it connects with "WPA3-Personal". It seems Android does not like to move between standards on the same network. Is there a way to disable WPA3 on the 615? The Omada config page only has one option available for WPA mode "WPA2-PSK/WPA3-SAE / AES".

That solved the problem. Is the EAP225 not likely to support WPA3 ever?
