Model: ER605 (TL-R605)
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 2.2.5 Build 20240522 Rel.75860

I have this TP-Link ER605. I pramarily want to set bandwidth control on my router (Archer AX12) which was in access pointmode. Here's the problem I have encountered. First, I made IP group list that only consisted the IP address of the access point which was 192.168.0.100. Then I set 10,240 kpbs bandwith control limit. But the problem is that the connected device to that AP such as my phone wasn't limited to 10 mbps when I try testing speedtest. However, when spicifically use my phone's IP address, the 10mbps limit works.

I plan to add another 2 access points for a diffrent group of users, so there will be 3 access points in total. And these 3 access points will have different download and upload limit. These device that would connect to the AP is around 20-30 devices. I don't want to ask their devices' IP address since it's pretty inconvenient for me to ask them individually. And not asking their IP address makes it difficult for me to know whoever is supposed to have lower or higher download and upload limit.

I just wonder why, setting a bandwidth control to an access point's IP address doesn't work but only works per device IP adress.

Can anyone helo me in this matter, since it would be convenient for me limit the speed of every access point. Thank you

Hi @Darin01

Seems to be a problem with your config.

You have to set a group of devices and their IP addresses to the bandwidth control instead of setting the AP IP address.

That's not how it works.

If your AX21 is in router mode, you can do this. But it is in AP mode now.

IPs and traffic are under the ER605. So, you gotta control each device IP and its traffic.
