It is not possible to get a specific temperature reading from your TP-Link Deco mesh units, as the Deco app and web interface do not have this feature. However, you can use these methods to gauge if your units are overheating.

How to check for overheating

  • Feel the units. Place your hand on the Deco unit to see if it is excessively hot to the touch. It is normal for the units to feel warm during operation.
  • Compare Deco units. If you have multiple Deco units, feel them all and compare their temperatures. A significant difference in temperature between units in similar environments could indicate an issue.
  • Look for signs of performance issues. An overheating unit may start to behave erratically, such as dropping Wi-Fi signals or rebooting unexpectedly.

Tips for maintaining a safe temperature

If your Deco unit feels unusually hot or is experiencing performance problems, follow these tips to help it cool down:

  • Ensure proper ventilation. Place the Deco in an open, well-ventilated area. Do not cover it with objects or place it in a closed space.
  • Avoid heat sources. Keep the unit away from direct heat sources like fireplaces, direct sunlight, or other electronic devices that generate heat.
  • Use the original power adapter. Always use the original power adapter that came with your Deco unit to prevent issues.

If your Deco unit continues to run excessively hot or exhibits performance problems after following these steps, please let us know
