To help us identify the issue more accurately, could you also let us know where the device is being deployed—on a home network or a business network? Additionally, may I ask which country you are located in?
 
Are you having any issues with the device? or you just want to update the firmware of it?
The current firmware version available for that unit is : EAP772(EU)_V1_1.0.14 Build 20240801 and since the device already stopped manufacturing the EAP772 V1 so there is no future firmware from the last release.  but we still offer troubleshooting assistance and  limited warranty  based on the date of purchase.

So we bought outdated hardware; that is not supported anymore. I bought mine dec 2024, so it is only 1 year old!

Yeah I purchased back in October 2024. I think I'll be trying to offload these and go with Ubiquiti.

  @pendamos This is why TP-Link should get fined or banned. Drops support of a business product within a year. I had two when released (v.1). Such a waste of money and will never buy anything TP-Link again, personally or for business.

I also sent a mail to support: this is what I got:

"Regarding firmware updates, once a TP-Link device has been officially classified as End-of-Life (EOL), we generally stop releasing new firmware versions that introduce features or major improvements. EOL indicates that the product’s development lifecycle has ended, and no further engineering work is planned for that specific hardware revision.
In some situations, we may still issue critical security or stability patches, but ongoing feature development is not guaranteed once a device reaches EOL.
 
Concerning the Cluster feature, please note that it is supported only on the EAP772 V2, not the V1. This is due to significant hardware differences between the two revisions. The V2 model uses an updated hardware platform (including chipset, memory handling, and processor changes) that allows it to support features that the V1 hardware cannot run reliably. While firmware can be updated, hardware versions are fixed and cannot be upgraded, which limits the features available to V1 devices.
 
We can certainly forward your feedback to our support and engineering teams, but we cannot guarantee that the Cluster feature—or other V2-specific enhancements—can be added to the EAP772 V1 in a future update.

I bought my EAPs in February this year (2025).. Didn't know I bought two shiny new WiFi 7 APs which is already outdated technology!
