Just upgraded to Linux 6.0.0.24!

I have close to 20 ER605 V2's on my self hosted controller... ER605 V2 2.3.1 dropped.  I tried to do the update 20 sites within the scheduled upgrade option in the firmware section.  It only did 4 and stopped.  I had to keep rescheduling it for the current time and it would 4 more and stop.  I had to repeat the process.

I understand if it can only do 4 at a time... BUT it would be nice to have mechanism where it seems all 4 done and does a rolling 4 upgrade until it's done!

Kind of a PITA to deal with when you have a fully loaded controller and want it to run auto-magically through the updates.

Re:Omada SDN Controller_V6.0.0.19 Pre-Release Firmware (released on 5th Sep, 2025)

I have since V6 a huge problem..

Both of my EAP653 (EU) 1.0 FW: 1.3.50 are not working anymore so well. The Memory is always over 80% after a few days more uptime hiting 90% and my IoT devices are always connecting to other access points far away from these 2, which was never a problem before. E.g. my Power System is directly under one of these EAP653 if connected the signal is around 23-26db so very good, instead it connects to the access point on the other floor with a signal of <70db, if I enable lock to access point my wash machine (same room, just that I did not have it until V6 so I can not relate how it was before) and power system fullfill the protocols of my controller because they always try to connect to another access point. I already resetted these 2 access points, for my main SSID I do not see any issues with my phone or laptop, but for the guest SSID I have issues too on these 2 EAP653 it does not get broadcasted properly (it is an open SSID). Anyone experienced something similar since that controller upgrade?

  @pustekuchen

The changes are quite significant, including both optimized text and new prompts. It would be difficult to list every single modification in detail. If there is no special requirement, you can also just wait for the latest version on the official website—it will be released very soon. Thanks for your understanding.

  @Vincent-TP What has changed between versions .23 and .24? It would be nice if there were a change log for each version so we could see what has changed. Thanks in advance

Updated with no issues...nice to have the phone/mobile app working again, though that was probably fixed in the previous release. Hoping the WLAN Optimization scheduling will make a return soon...was beneficial to run a WLAN Optimization after a monthly reboot of all of my Omada switches and AP's.

Hi  @KimcheeGUN

Thanks for the feedback. Does this only occur after updating the firmware to 6.0.0.24? Or this also happened before?

Hi  @Julian2111

Thanks for the feedback.

Does this issue existed before? Did it only occur after upgrading to version 6.0.0.24, or has it been present since the first release?

if I enable lock to access point my wash machine (same room, just that I did not have it until V6 so I can not relate how it was before) and power system fullfill the protocols of my controller because they always try to connect to another access point.

>>>What will happen if enable lock to AP? Will the IoT devices connecting to the locked EAP653?

but for the guest SSID I have issues too on these 2 EAP653 it does not get broadcasted properly (it is an open SSID).

>>>What do you mean by not broadcast properly? Does it mean EAP653 won't broadcast guest SSID? please give us more details.

Please have a look at the following and see if it helps with the IoT network:

Troubleshooting Guide for Unstable IoT Device Connections

Did you try to downgrade the controller to 5.15, will the same situation persist?

Re:Omada SDN Controller_V6.0.0.19 Pre-Release Firmware (released on 5th Sep, 2025)

  @Vincent-TP After upgrading to the first release of V6.

A downgrade to V5 is not possible because the OC220 is "too new".

Thanks for that guide, very usful though. I actually turned on for both SSID's the functionality "Do not allow Wi-Fi sharing", the Access Points they connect to (mainly EAP773 and EAP650-Desktop do not support that, what I saw in the configuration result, maybe it is that this function makes IoT devices not working properly, especially since they are all with the old 802.11n standard equiped.

To the guest SSID, it is a SSID, that is just open called "MyFamilyName-Gast" and not hidden, without any voucher behind. As on my iPhone and my Laptop(s) (Windows and Mac OS) next to these 2 Access Points it can't be found, only after a restart it is there for some time and if I try to connect to this SSID as hidden network with entering its BSSID.

When you look into that screenhot, the connected one is my primary WiFi, the 2nd one for my work devices, the 3rd one for my IoT devices and my guest one entirely missing. If I turn off the EAP653 the SSID's all have the signal strength from the IoT SSID because the access point is one floor lower, but when I took that screenshot I was next to the EAP653 so I definetly should have full signal here, it is the same on my laptop(s) and the guest SSID is entirely missing. I locked all IoT devices to their nearest AP, but since that upgrade to V6 they just continued trying to connect to other access points and full filled my log with messages like "XYZ failed to connect to AP2 because it is locked to AP1".

I've disabled that function now and resetted the access points, no channel optimisation or anything, but as for now the devices were connecting again to the SSID, I will write an update if the issue is back again.

  @Vincent-TP

I did not see this in the previous version of the 6.x controller.  What I usually do is set all the sites to upgrade at midnight if a new firmware drops.  I have 40+ sites on this big controller.  I come in the next morning and all the devices are upgraded.  This time I came in and only 4 were upgraded and the job was still sitting on the "Upgrade Schedule" list.

I think this is a new bug in x.24

Hi  @Julian2111

Thanks for the reply. What about the high memory concern? Does it persist?

In the meantime,  I've created a support ticket via your registered email address and escalated it to our support engineer to look into the issue. The ticket ID is TKID251106525. Please check your email box and ensure the support email is well received. Thanks!
