Forum in General: Marking a thread as "Recommended Solution"

I marked a thread that I created as "Recommended Solution" after I found a work around. But the workaround does not solve the underlying issue though, the work-around is a just a crutch. Therefore I also added a question in that last post if the devs could please take a notice. I never got a reply after that.

So I have two questions:

1. When should and when shouldn't one mark a thread as "Recommended Solution"?

2. Should I create a new thread in order to get this issue looked at?

PS: the thread is:

SX3008F weird port behavior (SFP RJ45 transceivers only work as uplink, but not as a LAN port)

Thank you for your post. In general, if a solution or recommendation is provided for the issue raised in the thread, the thread will be marked as the “recommended solution.”
You can continue replying in the original post; as for the issue you mentioned, I will forward it to the relevant department. We can keep following up on the original thread.
