Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 2.20_2.20.11 Build 20250628

My switch (SG3452XP V2, previously labeled TL-SG3452XP V2) initially had firmware version 2.0.2 Build 20230222 and appeared as Offline in the Omada Controller section.

I contacted TP-Link Support for assistance, but the initial response wasn’t helpful.

I upgraded the firmware sequentially:

  • From 2.0.2 Build 202302222.20.1 Build 20231115

  • Then to the latest 2.20_2.20.11 Build 20250628

(As noted in TP-Link’s knowledge base, the “TL” prefix has been removed from the model name in newer firmware releases.) Unfortunately, despite these updates, the switch still shows as Offline in the Omada Controller section.

For reference, I also have an EAP245 access point on the same network, and it connects to the Omada Cloud without any issues

I used the Omada Discovery Utility to adopt the switch, and the process completed successfully. However, the switch does not appear in my Omada Cloud, and when I checked the controller page on the switch, it was still listed as offline.

It’s quite frustrating that such a simple task isn’t working as expected, and despite reaching out to support, no one has been able to identify or resolve the issue so far.

Hi  @Dave_

Thanks for posting here.

Sometimes the Omada cloud access may be blocked by some special firewall rules.

May I ask what router is deployed in your network?

Can clients behind the switch access the internet normally?

You mentioned that EAPs in the same network can be discovered and managed properly - is this EAP connected to the switch? If not, please provide the specific network topology. Additionally, if possible, we recommend connecting the switch to a different network(Internet service provider) for testing.

Do you have a support case ID for reference? I may get more info from that case. Thanks.

Hi @Vincent-TP

Thanks for the quick response.

I checked the firewall logs and there were no blocked connections from the switch. However, I still created a rule to allow all traffic from the switch just to be sure.

The EAP is on the same network and connected to the same switch, and it connects to the Omada Cloud (Europe region) without any issue.

If this were related to the ISP, the EAP wouldn’t be able to connect in the first place.

Case ID: TKID251016520

Thanks

Hi  @Dave_

Thank you for your response. The troubleshooting steps already performed should have resolved the issue - there might be some other underlying factors at play.

I see the support team has suggested conducting remote diagnostics to investigate the root cause. I recommend continuing to cooperate with support's troubleshooting efforts.

Once the issue is addressed or resolved, please update this topic thread with your solution to help others who may encounter the same problem as you did.
Many thanks for your excellent cooperation and patience!
