Model: TL-SG3452X
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.20.2 Build 20240115 Rel.73737

We have 2 SG3452X switches connected with generic DAC SFP+ cable (waiting for TP-Link TL-SM5220-1M).

One of the switches has also a generic SFP BiDI SM/SC module connected to a Netgear Switch at the other end and one TL-SM5310-T module connected to a Synology NAS (E10G30-T2).

Problem - Any firmware update to 1.20.4/5/9/10 causes the populated SFP+ ports to start flapping about every 10 minutes (down and up), less often the one with TL-SM5310-T.

No such problem with 1.20.2. We will replace the DAC with the TP-link model. We can always move  the FO link to a media converter.

Or we can stay with the current firmware.

  @Intersys

Thank you for your post.
Regarding the SFP+ port flapping you mentioned—does it affect all SFP+ ports on both switches?
How are you managing the devices, and do the logs show any related errors?
Did the port LEDs change state during the flapping events?
What are the exact model numbers of the DAC cables and SFP modules you’re currently using?

Switch 1
Port 49 - Tp-link TL-SM5310-T (to Synology NAS)
Port 51 - HITech SFP Transceiver  1.25Gbps, SC, SM 3.3V 20Km, 1.25 G TX=1310nm (to Netgear Switch)
Port 52 - ATOP APCP01-SSC010 SFP+ Passive Copper cable 1m

Switch 2
Port 52 - ATOP APCP01-SSC010 SFP+ Passive Copper cable 1 m

The flapping affected all populated and connected ports, I did not change the cabling to test the other SFP+ ports.
The logs showed the down/up change every 10-15 minutes and the corresponding STP messages.
I did not check the lights (not on the web page or physically) because it is for 1-2 seconds and established after the fact, in the logs.
The switches are managed in standalone mode.
Since staying at the current firmware does not affect us (at least  as far as we know, yet) we are not upgrading.
It is not a complicated setup (VLAN and LAG used).

  @Intersys

To identify the root cause, we’ll need your configuration file, the running logs captured while the issue is occurring, and a complete topology diagram for analysis. Therefore, you’ll need to upgrade to the firmware version that reproduces the problem.

  @Ethan-TP

2 pcs of SG3452X 1.20 - no. 1 and no. 2

Firmware update from SG3452X(UN)_v1.20_1.20.2 Build 20240115 to SG3452X(UN)_v1_1.20.10 Build 20250628 (it says v1 but was downloaded from the page for 1.20).

No. 1 and no. 2 connected via port 52 with SFP+ DAC TL-SM5220-1M, 1m.

Both switches also have in port 49 SFP+ TL-SM5310-T RJ45 - one connected to Synology E10G30-T2, the other to Synology E10G18-T1.

Disconnect of port 52 results in 1-2 pings miss.

Port 39 is connected to another switch (Unifi) and port 33 to a router (Opnsense) but no similar problems there.
