LLDP for Networkdevices
Hello,
in my home network I use the following devices:
-
1x TP-Link ER8411 (v1.20) – 2× 10GbE + 11× 1GbE
-
1x TL-SX3008F – 8× 10GbE
-
1x TP-SG3428X (v1.0) – 24× 1GbE + 4× 10GbE
-
1x TL-SG2210MP (v4.20) – 8× 1GbE PoE (rack) + uplinks
-
1x ES201EMP (v1.0) – 8× 1GbE (desk) + uplinks
-
4x TL-SG105PE – 4× 1GbE PoE + 1× uplink
What I really miss is 802.1ab (LLDP support) on the ER8411 (central 10GbE router) and the TL-SG105PE (access layer switches in my case).
The ER8411 is a business line (Omada) model – I honestly do not understand why it does not support LLDP by default.
The TL-SG105PE is classified as a SOHO model, which explains the missing LLDP support in theory – but for small access layer PoE switches used for smart home, VoIP phones, Wi-Fi APs, VIGI cameras etc. – LLDP would be extremely helpful.
All my other switches support LLDP.
I would highly appreciate if TP-Link could consider adding LLDP functionality to these devices via a future firmware update.
Kind Regards
Max
