OC220 HW Version(s)
Hi,
I just purchased an OC220 - yesterday ;). And today I see firmware for HW v2 ... does it really exist? I got v1, but do not want out of date hardware, right at purchase.
Thanks!

@arrmo Thanks for your post. After confirming with the team here, yes, the V2 does exist, but the performance for your network is identical to V1. The only change is to the visual identity of the product, such as the chassis and packaging.

@NeilR_M Awesome, thanks for confirming - appreciate it! So I can expect the same firmware / software updates on V1 and V2 (i.e. no EOL on V1 prior to V2)?
BTW, can you also explain the controller Firmware version, vs. the SDN version?
Thanks again!

@arrmo Correct, they should be both receiving updates.
Controller Firmware versions are bundled with a specific SDN version, which you can find on the release notes for the controller (Designated here as Comes with Omada Network 6.0.0.36)

@NeilR_M Thanks so much for the help, appreciate it! Is there a similar document for v1, or are the "bundled".
So I take it there is the firmware, and it's bundled with a version of the "Omada Network" (from the release note).
BTW ... REALLY liking the new features and evolution - very positive steps. Just one thing missing yet LOL. But I can wait.
Thanks again.

@arrmo Yep, you can find the document for V1 here: OC220 | Omada Hardware Controller | Omada Network Support

Yes, exactly, and appreciate the positive feedback! For anything missing, feel free to share it here or in the Requests and Suggestions Module here on the forums.

@NeilR_M Will do - thanks again. My only minor issue ... the DHCP server (client) info => automatically share it to DNS, so that LAN DNS is "automatic", and works like a "normal" router. I have a workaround for now (CoreDNS Omada), but would really prefer that LAN DNS is also provided by the gateway. Then a single DNS server for LAN and Internet.
And BTW, really liking my new OC220 ... seems very responsive. Any HW info you can share would be appreciated (nothing confidential of course).
Thanks so much for the help!
