Hello,
I have an ER605 router and after entering the WAN IP address, the internet does not work. When I was not using the controller and configured the physical device directly, the error message stating that it is a broadcast address referred to a well-known old issue where the router does not work if the gateway address is outside the network address. According to the knowledge base, this issue should have been resolved a long time ago.

From the ISP I have the following details: IP 10.87.122.27, subnet mask 255.255.255.248, gateway 10.87.122.24.

I work as an IT administrator, so I don’t have a problem with standard trivial issues, hopefully 😄

Technically, the error is correct, the gateway IP is outside that mask and then by industry standards, is not reachable as it sits outside the mask scope

You can probably immediately fix this by using a wider mask - its extremely unlikely to cause you any issues at all as the ISP will be managing IP ranges per connection anyway

A mask of 255.255.255.240 will include the .24 gateway in the scope

I have the same problem with my ISP - my  5 public IPs sit in a /29, but the gateway IP is far outside it.  I just change the mask to fit the gateway IP and it works without issue

Could you provide a screenshot of the pop-up error you mentioned? Also, please try upgrading to the latest firmware (V2.3.3) to see if the issue is resolved. If you can share more specific details, I’ll be better able to understand the problem you’re describing.
