Hello everyone,

I’d like to ask if there is any ongoing project, feature request, or plan to integrate Port Security settings for Omada-managed switches directly into the Omada Controller / Omada SDN graphical interface ?

As far as I understand, Port Security is supported by Omada switches at the hardware level (including limiting learned MAC addresses, etc.), but currently the only way that people seem able to make these configurations is via CLI/SSH directly on each switch, not through the Omada Controller UI.

In other words, it seems that once a switch is adopted and managed by the Omada Controller, there is no way in the controller UI to configure Port Security or MAC limit/count settings on individual ports — unless you dive into the switch’s CLI.

I found some community discussions indicating similar frustrations that MAC-related or port-security functionality isn’t exposed in the controller interface even though the hardware supports it.

So my main question is:

Is there any roadmap, ticket, or development effort underway to add Port Security configuration into the Omada SDN/Controller GUI — so we can manage those settings centrally without having to SSH into each switch?

Thanks in advance!

Hi  @IT_Guy_46

Thanks for posting here.

There are indeed some design differences between standalone mode and controller mode, and not all options are completely identical. You can choose the management mode based on your needs.

Regarding information such as firmware release plans, feature addition schedules, and product lifecycles for various models, unfortunately, the community team does not have access to specific plans in advance. Compared to the official website, we can only learn about whether a firmware version is scheduled for community pre-release about 1-2 weeks earlier. Beyond that, we have no further information. For more detailed updates, we recommend keeping an eye on the official website. I appreciate your understanding.
