iPhones L2TP Disconnect
Hi everybody!
I found that iPhones have unstable L2TP VPN to er8411 via LTE network.
it disconnecting every time at Speedtest while Upload test.
I've tried encrypted and unencrypted servers sets.
Disconnecting throug iphone native L2TP.
I've checked Windows L2TP and ER6120 L2TP Client connections to ER8411 - all of them stable!
only iPhone have a problem. Don't tell me that it's Apple problem pleaseeee.... ))
ps. my iphone is an old X model.. may be that is a problem?

P.S. also iPhone Disconnecting while uploading 5-10Gb video to WhatsApp through L2TP VPN.
All upload operations that more than ~5Gb causing L2TP disconnecting from iPhone..... ((

May I know if your other clients or connecting via other VPN works fine? Can I have a clear view of your network topology?
How did you recover the connection if there is any disconnection?

I have only 2 clients via L2TP VPN. the first based at remote ER6120 L2tp client. And it works fine!
The second - is my iPhone X configured it's own ios l2tp client.
and it works also fine before I uploading something (Video to whatsapp or Speedtest upload test)..
I have peer-to-peer network using 172.18.1.0/24 ips. VPN IPs have no conflicts with ethernet users.
L2TP recovering: Manually recover from iPhone l2tp client settings. Disconnections are not appears when iPhone idling.
P.S. OpenVPN client works fine (while Uploading) from my iPhone but it disconnecting every time when iphone idling and fastly reconnect when iphone in use.
so.. L2TP - disconnecting while uploading. OpenVPN - disconnecting while idling... ((
iOS version is 16.7.14

Current ER8411 firmware has some MTU fragmentation issues in relation to VPN connections, it is likely this which is causing your issue. There will be a fix in the next release. In the mean time, you can try turning your ER8411 WAN MTU size down to 1400 and see if it is more stable

Thank you for advice! I've set all my wans to mtu=1400
VPN traffic gone slover but does not fixed iphone upload via l2tp...
Please pay attention that download through the same iphone's l2tp works allright!
Upload at the maximum through output caused l2tp to disconnect...
