Hey there,

Can anyone give me any advice on updating the firmware of EAP245v3 (US)? It is currently on fw5.0.5. I have tried all the newer fw, e.g., 5.1.0, 5.2.0, 5.3.2, 5.3.3 from Omada's website and received "invalid file" error when I attempted to update it.

What is the last fw this AP supports?

Thanks for the info.

As support said, it's a custom firmware for the CA region.

And yes, we are working on updating the CA firmware recently. Please pay attention to the CA official website. Thanks for your understanding.

I know you stated that you tried it, but make sure it's this link.  If it does not work, please email support at support.us@omadanetworks.com, as we may need to investigate with engineering.

  @Carl I tried the fw via the link you shared and got the same error "the upgrade file is invalid file. Please select a correct file" again.

Are you in Canada? For which updates are far behind. Scroll down only a few topics further in the list. This has been covered. Firmware updates "soon come".

  @RF_Dude Yes, I live in Ontario, Canada. My two EAP245's v3 are running US firmware, though. Can't I upgrade US firmware for them?

What I would suggest is emailing Support.SMB@tp-link.com.  Explain the issue or share a link to this thread.  I would include the firmware links you have tried and the error code with them.  They will likely need to engage with engineering to identify and resolve this concern for you.

  @Carl yes, tp-link support team replied to me just now that the latest fw for EAP245(US) v3 in Canada is 5.0.5. Sigh....
