DNS address pointing to the gateway prevent Netflix from working
[Setup]
ER707-M2 gateway connected to my ISP (gigabit fiber).
SG3218XP-M2 main network switch
Couple EAP772 wifi access-points (powered via PoE ports on the switch)
All centrally managed via an Omada SDN Controller 6.0.0.25 (docker container)
[Issue]
A couple days ago we ran into an issue that Netflix refused to start streaming after selecting something to play. While it normally starts within a second or so, it now takes a couple of seconds before it shows a percentage indicator that slowly increases to 25% and then stops. When testing with my phone which is connected to the same subnet (but via wifi) I have no trouble whatsoever.
A full factory reset on the Samsung Q8F smart TV did not solve the issue. After setting up it was immediately there again. Other internet based services like Youtube, HBO etcetera work fine, so I could safely say it's not the ethernet cable connecting the TV to the network.
After spending a couple hours diagnosing the issue and toggling many settings to find a solution, I finally decided to change the LAN settings and set the normally automatically configured DNS server to a manually chosen one and use 8.8.8.8 as DNS server IP (Google).
Directly after refreshing the network connection on the TV, Netflix started working as normal. No issues, no delays, instant playback! To confirm the issue I reversed the modified settings, resulting in a dead Netflix again.
Not a single settings was recently changed before the issues started. The only thing I noticed was an update to the Omada controller just before the issues started.
The issues seem to be DNS related and because I'm using local DNS entries, I can't just leave the DNS server set to 8.8.8.8.
Anyone who has experience the same or similar and has a clue what to look for or change?

@Theedoek After installing firmware 1.4.1 my Tesla-app, IMDB-app and some other apps doesn't work anymore when I am connected to my Wifi. I can't downgrade...
I have a dual-stack IPv4 and IPv6 on my network and internet connection. DNS address for my LAN network is the router.
For now, I have installed dnscrypt-proxy on my Raspberry Pi for bypassing the router. My apps are working now, but it is not how it should be.
In another topic is problem is described:

It looks like a bug how the router handles IPv6 DNS requests. I hope it will be fixed...

Hi @Theedoek
Thanks for your feedback. Our team is investigating this situation now. Will keep you updated.
In the meantime, please let us know the Internet connection type of your network. Did you use IPV6?

Thanks for your feedback.
Have you tried changing the DNS server? Did it help?
How do you manage the ER707-M2? via its standalone interface, or with a controller?

I have a one gigabit fiber connection from my ISP going into an ISP provided media converter that converts it to standard RJ45 twisted-pair copper, which in turn is connected to the 2.5G WAN port of the ER707-M2. The whole network is IPv4 and where possible all IPv6 features are disabled.
During the test I modified the DNS server in Omada, but I returned that setting to normal again after the test and switched to a custom IP setting on the TV (so the rest of the network is not affected). So if I were to set the tv to DHCP again, I immediatly lose the ability to start playback on netflix (login and browsing is all fine).
What confuses me is that not every Netflix user seems to have these issues. It is isolated to the TV (as far as I know). Even using a different cable on a different switch port makes no difference. It is really something DNS related in (I guess) the ER707.

I use Omada.
My settings are:
LAN settings:
IPv4
IP-range: 192.168.2.1 - 192.168.2.253
Default gateway: 192.168.2.254
DNS: 192.168.2.254
IPv6
Interfacetype: SLAAC + Stateless DHCP
DNS: IPv6-address of the default gateway
WAN
DNS settings:
DoH with IP-address of Cloudflare DNS server (IPv4 and IPv6)
IPv6: DHCPv6
IPv4: PPPoE
Since the installation of firmware 1.4.1 it is broken...
For now I have changed the DNS in the LAN-settings to the IP-adress (IPv4+IPv6) of the Cloudflare DNS-server (and not the default gateway anymore). So I don't have DoH anymore.

Thanks for your reply.
Which firmware are you using now? the 1.4.1, or the older one?
We would also like to follow up on the VPN not working issue you mentioned in the other post. How is your VPN connection now?

My ER707-M2 was updated to 1.4.1 on the 25th of April, after which I had no issues until 2 days ago.
I am not using IPv6 at all. Not sure if your post is related, but there for sure a similarities.
Since you have already posted your issue in another topic, can you please just refer to the other topic instead of reposting your issue here. It causes confusion by the looks of it :)
