We want to use a couple of SG1008P in a situation where there might be stray earth currents, and wanted to sort out the interconnection of the drain wires in our long run cables.
Are the rj45 sockets on the SG1008P connected to the metal casing?

Hi,@Trevnz

Thank you for posting on our business forum.

All of our metal-cased switches support grounding and are compatible with shielded twisted pair (STP) cables. For most metal-enclosed network devices, the housing of the RJ45 socket is connected to the device's own metal chassis (i.e., the protective earth/ground), to deliver the designed anti-static protection and electromagnetic shielding effect.

Should you have any other related questions, please feel free to leave your inquiry here anytime.
