Model: ER707-M2
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.4.2 Build 20260509 Rel. 32107

My OC220 controller alerted me today to a firmware update waiting for the ER707-M2 v1.20.  I proceeded to apply it.  It completed -- or at least the OC220 shows the router's current firmware is Version1.4.2 Build 20260509 Rel.32107, which seems to match the latest firmware reported here:
https://support.omadanetworks.com/us/download/firmware/er707-m2/

It rebooted the router at some point after the scheduled update time, which currently is up and running as my devices are all connected as far as I can tell. Access points and various clients all appear to be working.

But when I view the router in the OC220 now, and click on the Logs tab of the device, it shows this entry which is for the date/time that it applied the firmware update:

Echo Server

Apply

May 19, 2026 08:39:20 pm

Device failed to apply configurations. (ErrorCode: gateway_100)

I can't see anything in the OC220 that seems to be a problem other than this message in the router's logs.
When I view each of my access points (various EAP models), they all show connected and nothing in their respective configuration result logs.

What does this message indicate, and where should I look to correct it?  What should I be checking on my network?

Thanks!

Hi  @vdawg

Thanks for posting here.

This log indicates that a configuration was not successfully applied. The gateway may not support a particular configuration item in the controller, or there may be other reasons, making it difficult to pinpoint exactly.

Do you have any issues in actual use? Or have you observed any abnormal functionality? If not, it is recommended to ignore it.

@Vincent-TP Yes, the network appears to be running properly and all devices are connected.  The router reports the lastest firmware so it appears it installed it.  Since the firmware was written specifically for this device, I don't understand why it would try to implement a feature that is not supported by the device it was written for.  As an enhancement request, I would suggest having the controller also report which configuration setting triggered the update failure message.

Hi  @vdawg

Thanks for the reply.

Logs need to contain a vast amount of information, making it difficult to display all the details in plain text at the moment.

Controller will display the configuration result on this page, and you will see which items failed to configure. You may have a check.

@Vincent-TP Thanks for your quick reply.  I would suggest to the developers to store a short numeric code which would only require a couple of addtional bytes in the log file, indicating which part of the configuration failed.  This could then be cross-referenced with an off-device (perhaps on your website) reference table that associates the codes with longer descriptions of the setting or componenent that failed.

The page you indicated in your screenshot is where I found the message initially. Unfortunately, it only offers the message I included earlier, which doesn't narrow down the precise cause of the error.
