Hi@YuriyB
Thanks for the reply.
Just confirmed more info.
When a radar signal is detected on the current working channel, the EAP will prioritize checking other DFS channels. It will only switch to a non-DFS channel when all DFS channels are occupied.
As for the time to switch back to the set channel, the EAP will switch back to the configured channel only after detecting that no clients have been connected for some time. This is because channel switching causes connected clients to disconnect, and this mechanism is in place to avoid frequent channel changes that would impact the wireless client experience. When you restart, all wireless clients disconnect, so the EAP will broadcast on the configured channel.

Hi @YuriyB
Thanks for posting here.
EAP 653 when radar is detected, instead of switching to a non-DFS channel, it switches to another DFS
>>>after detecting a radar signal, it doesn’t necessarily mean it will always switch to a non-DFS channel; it could also switch to other available DFS signals at that time.
Below is an article about this: Brief introduction of DFS function
The second problem is it doesnt switch back to my 52 channel until I reboot AP
>>>How many EAP653 do you have in total? do they all behave the same? Around how long did you wait before reboot the AP?

@Vincent-TP Hi, thanks for reply!
And thanks for your answer "it could also switch to other available DFS signals at that time."
It seems to me that the access point stops recognizing that the DFS channel is no longer busy and that it can switch back to it. I can wait 12hours or more.
Last radar detected was 12 hours ago 2026/05/27 23:35 and AP is still waiting for something, for reboot....

@Vincent-TP You are right.
at ~22:50 I've disconnected all 5ghz devices and then after 30 minutes EAP switched back to my channel.
Everything is OK. Thanks.
