Hello!

I'm currently planning to install 2 cameras at a remote site.

As the ER703 -4G is currently unavailable, I thought about going for the ER701-5G Outdoor, an  SG2005P-PD and a  POE380S to power them.

This would be absolutely useless, if the ER701-5G really doesn't support native VPN tunneling to our main site.

Infrastructure:

Omada OC200, 2 8411 on major sites, 2 7412 and a 605 all tunneled.

If the 701-5G doesn't support VPN, I would probably need to go for our providers Zyxel Outdoor router/antennas and another 605, 2005P-PD and good luck...

So can I create an IPSec Tunnel from my new remote-site with an ER-701-5G Outdoor or not?

Faulty AI says yes, datasheet doesn't mention it (only as passing NAT).

Playing around on its Emulator, it does not seem to have any VPN functionality at all, so i would guess no.

Thanks! Yes, got it confirmed over night. It is "more like a modem" than a (the other Omada gateways) router. The same sort of 2-device solution I'd get from my provider (there it would be a zyxel 7701 and a Fritz!box).

So the next logical step would bei a PoE powering SOHO gateway (there once was a cisco ASA with PoE Ports).

One of my distributors now sends me returned ER703-4G with its antennas missing (I don't need WiFi, but have a lot of LTE, Wifi, BT, DVB-T,...antennas to try^^). So hopefully I can get the cameras running (and hope to get enough bandwidth).
