I would like to request two security and UI/UX enhancements regarding the Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) process in the Omada Controller. Currently, managing and entering MFA codes could be made significantly more streamlined and secure.

1. Support for Biometric Authentication

Right now, the system only allows 2-Step Verification via an authenticator app or email. For security compliance and best practices, I prefer not to use email as a second factor.

  • Request: Please consider adding support for biometric authentication methods (such as Touch ID, Face ID, or Windows Hello) using the WebAuthn/Passkey standard. This would allow administrators to authenticate securely and instantly without relying on third-party OTP apps or less-secure email codes.

2. Enable "Enter" Key to Submit MFA Verification Codes

When using the current authenticator app method, the login workflow feels a bit unergonomic. After typing or pasting the MFA code, the user is forced to manually move the mouse and click the "Confirm" button.

  • Request: Please map the "Enter" key as a submission shortcut when the MFA input field is focused. Pressing "Enter" should trigger the same action as clicking "Confirm." This is a standard UX practice that would greatly speed up the daily login routine for administrators.
