Hello

I understand that an EAP330 can handle between 25 and 30 clients per Radio. I have one EAP330 setup in a hall with an SSID of "hallg" on both 2.4 and 5 Ghz. When I look at the Monitoring SSID in the EAP Web Interface, I note that 5 Ghz has 50 Clients and 2.4 Ghz only has 8 or so.

Is there a way to have EAP spread the clients evenly among the 2 frequencies without creating a separate SSID for each frequency??

Thanks in Advance for suggestions related to my question.

In general, you can enable load balance on EAP330 on its web UI (in standalone mode). By setting the maximum number of clients accessing the EAPs, Load Balance helps to achieverational use of network resources. Shown as the attachment, Input 30 clients for 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz.

Yes. That's what " Band Steering" is for. Just enable it and configure it with appropriate values. Load balancing is for spreading clients among different APs, not among different SSIDs of the same AP.

There is no setting for Band Steering to be found ! I purchased one of these for home, just so I would have one to reference. Have 2 in a Auditorium setting but they are working in standalone mode. Is Band steering available only when using the Controller? I have (at home) version 1 (US) of the EAP330 hardware and the latest firmware update. And I don't see band steering. Will look at it again.

Really appreciate all who take time to respond. Gives me a warm fuzzy feeling.

Thank You!.

You are right, Band steering is not supported on EAP330 in standalone mode.
So you have to install the Controller.
