Hi Guys,

hopefully someone can help with this. I have 2 x Wa-7510n and i am linking 2 x buildings, so it will be from switch to switch as im linking a main building with a server to a remote building with 5 x PC's, AP1 is configured in AP Bridge mode and i have put in the MAC of AP2, (strangley i cannot configure a security key so i have hidden the SSID from broadcast) on AP2 i have configured as AP with Bridge, put in the MAC of AP1 and again cannot set security.

so first question is;
1. is this the way to set this up?
2. why cant i set security

Thanks in advance

You can set your network like:
1, bridge )))) (((( bridge mode,
2, or AP )))) (((( client mode,
3, or AP )))) (((( Repeater.
Make sure the lan IP of both of your 7510 are different but in the same subnet. And make sure that security info on both of them are the same.

I have set them up in bridge mode and they can see each other, problem is when I put them in situ, they cannot ping each other. the distance im covering is 9.1 miles (17km) should I start thinking about external antenna or should they work over this distance without the external antenna

2. why cant i set security maybe you are trying to set WPA security and Bridge mode only let you use WEP security
the distance im covering is 9.1 miles (17km) over the distance off 7510
please post this answrers so you get better help
1-do you have clear LOS (line of sight)
2-5Ghz Freznel zone its narrower than 2.4 but trees kill 5Ghz, your PTP (point to point) link is clear off trees and is out of your Freznel zone
check this video you will understand Freznel zone http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dfPUf9510NI
guide tp PTP on Bridge mode http://www.tp-link.com/en/article/?faqid=498

If the line of Sight is clear .. you would have a good connection ..

Narrower Fresnel Zone is better .. Remember for a reliable link 80 % of the fresnel zone should be clear !
