Linking 2 T1600G-28PS switches
Hey,
So I have 2 T1600G-28PS(TL-SG2424P) switches.
The first receives a single GB uplink from my router, and the second is connected to the first via the 4 SFP ports that I have in Link Aggregation - so a 4 GB trunk if you will.
My router is set as the DHCP server.
For the moment I have in both my switches the default route set to the IP address of my router.
However I want to make sure this is the correct way to go. I'd rather not have all my internal traffic pass through the router first to find a device that's on either one of the switches.
Simply because the router is not made to handle that much traffic ofcourse :p
So I was wondering if on the second switch I have to set the default route to the first switch, and only on the first switch the default route to the router.
Or do they automatically know if the device they are looking for is on their own systems, as all traffic from switch 2 automatically goes through switch 1 via the trunk.
Thanks!
