TL-SG1005D does not support VoIP?

Model: TL-SG1005D
Hardware Version: V9
Firmware Version:

So, last week I setup a Deco M5 mesh network in my home. Works great. However, the base deco only has two ethernet ports - one for incoming internet from my modem and one for other devices - of which I have a few. One of them is a Linksys PAP2T for my VoIP service. With that plugged straight into the deco, it works. With that plugged into an old 100Mb switch which is in turn plugged into the deco, it works. However, with that plugged into a TL-SG1005D which is in turn plugged into the deco, it does not work. What? How does a switch in 2019 not work with VoIP? Please advise!

You can confirm if TL-SG1005D can work with the normal data. The unmanaged switch should not be able to block VoIP. If you devices both support 1000M, please try to change the cable or confirm that the link speed already get 1000Mbps.

@Andone This is a 10+ year old pre-GB ethernet device. I have no idea what it supports. All I know is that new devices "should" be backwards compatible. If they're not, well, that was a design choice I guess. A not great choice, but whatever. It's a $16 switch. I got my doubts this will be resolved. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
