Can not get two TL-R470T Routers to connect and pass internet.
Hi
Started with cable modem, TL-R470T+ V6 router, to an Archer wireless router. All going well. We have a whole housefull of wireless stuff like everyones house usually has. Then in the back of the house, I have some more sensitive business macnines that I would rather not have connected to the wireless world or family and friends. So I got another TL-R470T. I liked the options and the built in firewall and figured it would be a good choice for what I need.
Then the headaches started. It would not connect with DHCP. No big deal. I just set a static IP on the backroom router and it shows it connects. I set DHCP on the back router and connected a linux machine to it and it connected. But it does not get internet. I have tried all kinds of settings, been banging my head since last thursday. I even swapped routers to see if I had a bad router, but both work fine. A streight cable from the front router to the linux machine works fine. It is not the front router. It is only when I put the second router in the mix, I do not get internet. I can even set the second router as a switch and things work fine. I am getting tired of walking back and forth across the house. My wife is tired of my cussing and she is tired of me restarting the whole house. Even my dog wants to run away at this point.
I have run out of ideas at this point. I could really use some help. Thanks!
