Model: EAP115
Hardware Version: V4
Firmware Version: 3.1.0

Hi there,

I've been doing research on the EAP115. I am not too familiar when it comes to networks/networking. My situation is generic. There are locations in my home further away from the router than others that need better coverage. I want to expand my existing network to the affected areas.

Is it possible to use the EAP115 to stregthen my existing network to dead zones?

p.s I also have a powerline system I can use if that makes any difference.

Yes, but I personally would prefer an EAP225 dual-band AP.

In any way you need to connect the EAP via cable with your main router. Best solution is to use an Ethernet cable (»patch cable«), but you could also use Powerline for the connection.

@apple2

Yes  you can use the EAP to expand your router's network. (See the following network topology). You just connect the EAP to your router directly via an ethernet cable, then configure for the EAP. The client devices can access the Internet when they connect to the SSID of the EAP.

Note: EAP115 is a signal band product and it can only work in 2.4G frequency. If possible, we recommend you to use EAP225 v3.0 or EAP245 v3.0, they are very popular.
