Model: TL-ER6120
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version: 3.0.1 Build 20180724 Rel.80086

Hi,

I have recently installed the above router in our organization. The WAN 1 has a static IP. We would like to configure the router so that the users can connect to the LAN remotely through VPN. I have been able to configure the VPN through the PPTP protocol sucessfully, but since it is not very secured I would like to use L2TP/IPSEC protocol to establish a secured VPN tunnel. Also, I am able to connect to the network using Greenbow by following this link https://www.tp-link.com/in/support/faq/2162/  - But unfortunately, it does not assign the remote client the Router WAN/LAN IP - Thus resulting in some softwares not working properly.

Note: The remote client machines are windows 7 & 10

Please advise.

Thanks in advance.

KunalB

https://www.tp-link.com/in/support/faq/2162/  is for clinet to LAN IPsec VPN.

If you want to use L2TP/IPsec VPN, please follow the below FAQ.

@iLX

You can the tunnel list on router for confirming whether the VPN is established.

You don't need to open some ports in the firewall. Because after the VPN is established, the VPN client should be able to access the resource behind VPN router.

Suggest to upgrade the latest firmware of ER6120. The old version may have some bug related to VPN.
