MAC address learning on PoE switch
Hello,
I have a weird problem with my simple setup. My physical setup is:
ISP-->Router (DHCP)-->Switch-->Devices
Config is pretty basic:
- Router: 192.168.14.1 (TP-LINK R600VPN)
- Switch: 192.168.14.7 (TP-LINK SG1016PE)
- DHCP: 192.168.14.100 ... 200
- switch ports used: [9-10,15-16]
Router is connected to port 16 of the switch. There is a VLAN on port [15-16], and anotther VLAN on [1-14,16], with bandwidth control on port 15.
A few weeks ago, I installed 2 wall jack in the living room which I connected to ports 7 and 8. Tested everything, no issue on both plugs. I connected my TV to port 8 and left port 7 unused.
then a few days later, I installed my xbox and plugged it in the other wall jack (connected to port 7), but couldn't get an IP! Tested the port with my laptop and can't ping anything. I get the "General failure" when trying to ping anything.
Then tested connecting my laptop directly to another unused port of my switch, still not working. It's working if I plug directly to the router.
After checking the product information of my switch, it states there is MAC address learning, which could be the issue, but I can't seem to find anything about this in the user manual or the web management interface.
I hope some experts here will be able to help me!
Thank you
