@No_space_left I'm also quite confused about this and the whole TL-SG2210P vs T1500G-10PS thing in general.

The website and datasheet say that the SG2210P is af/at, but as it only supplies a maximum of 58W I doubt it can do anything more than 802.3at type 1 which is 802.1af anyway. Either the at support is a typo, or a rather odd decision.

The TL-SG2210P seems to be the replacement for the T1500G-10PS (given the newer base firmware), but as you said they appear to have different firmware. Neither has the end of life label on it like some other boxes. Also, the manual for the TL-SG2210P on the support page points to the T1500G-10PS manual. TP-Link could you make this any more confusing!

Back on the PoE, the T1500G-10PS says it can supply 53W, while the TL-SG2210P says 58W with the caveat that "PoE budget calculations are based on laboratory testing. Actual PoE power budget is not guaranteed and will vary as a result of client limitations and environmental factors.". So maybe the change in supplied power is purely theoretical rather than hardware related?

Hi Birger, I got the following from my enquiry to TP-Link about the difference between the two. Might be of some help:

1. T1500G-10PS is the replacement of TL-SG2210P, and please note that TL-SG2210P is a discontinued model.
If you are going to choose between T1500G-10PS and TL-SG2210P, or you want a product similar to TL-SG2210P, we will suggest T1500G-10PS.

2. T1500G-10PS has a brand new management webpage and more powerful functions, you can find lot of difference between T1500G-10PS and TL-SG2210P in the SOFTWARE FEATURES part of the Specification page.

I think the support's reply just makes things even more confusing. If you look at https://www.tp-link.com/en/business-networking/smart-switch/tl-sg2210p/#overview it says the TL-SG2210P is a "new" model. A few days back it said "coming soon". The T1500G-10PS on the other hand is listed as "end of live" https://www.tp-link.com/us/business-networking/smart-switch/t1500g-10ps/. It seems to be the other way around. Still very confusing.

Interesting, the Australian site doesn't have the end of life tag. Also the two units I bought today are labelled as "T1500G-10PS V2 (TL-SG2210P V3)" on the box serial number sticker.

Ok they corrected/clarified their statement:

TL-SG2210P v1 and v2 are produced 5 years ago, after that, We have T1500G-10PS to replace the TL-SG2210P v1 and v2, but TL-SG2210P V3.0 will replace T1500G-10PS in the future.
 

@MattAus now that it is clarified which version is the newer one we still do not know if it really supports PoE+ as specified on the web site.

I still find the naming really confusing. Support has replied to be and confirmed that the unit labeled "T1500G-10PS V2.0 (TL-SG2210P V3.0)" is indeed just a T1500G-10PS V2.0.

@No_space_left Yes from this I conclude:

• The "T1500G-10PS V2.0 (TL-SG2210P V3.0)" is just a T1500G-10PS V2.0, and only supports 802.3af.
• The actual "TL-SG2210P V3.0" (which I can't find anyone selling yet) supports 802.3af as per the datasheet (https://static.tp-link.com/2020/202003/20200302/JetStream%20Smart%20Switches%20Datasheet.pdf). As it only has a maximum capacity of 58W, it would only be able to support a few ports using class 4 power levels.
• That appears to be the main difference bewteen the two and may have required a hardware revision to support the higher powers on the individual port level. This leads me to believe that the "T1500G-10PS V2.0 (TL-SG2210P V3.0)" will never be able to support 802.3at.

@No_space_left Has anyone dared to try and upgrade the Sg2210P V1 with the V3 firmware? I bought this switch assuming compatability with omada SDN.
