Model: TL-R470T+
Hardware Version: V6
Firmware Version: 6.0.4 Build 20200313 Rel.32850

Hello,

When I enable IPv6 on the router - the CPU on the router starts to ramps up from constant 25% utilization up to 100% over a 10 hour period and eventually becomes un-usable. If IPv6 is is then disabled the CPU load drops to 45% instantly. To return to the 25% utilization a reboot is required.

The router is configured with basic load balancing: 2 wan ports and one IPv4 policy route. SNMP monitoring is enabled. (no traps)

Any suggestions you may have will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you
Sean

@sFord

Hello,

For the CPU issue, you may upgrade the firmware again (20200313 upgrades to 20200313) and see if it could refresh the CPU.

Besides, SNMP occupies CPU a lot. The bandwitch, amount of clients and behavior of the clients would also eat the CPU.

As I know, the maximum capacity of TL-R470T+ V6 is 30, NAT throughput is 95Mbps.

Hi @Yannie,

Thank you for suggestions, SNMP seems to account for about 3-5%. Amount of traffic has no bearing what so ever, this occurs if if all the devices on the network are off. The maximum traffice I could have is 7.5 Mb. ( Dual WAN - 3.5MB and 4Mb). I am already at the latest version of the firmware.

@sFord

I would suggest to contact tp-link support when we cannot figure out the issue, especially when it seems to be the device issue.
