Just received my new T1500G-10MPS in which I hooked my OC200 up to and powered it up fine (shows 100mbs on the port which is should). Connected POE camera and works great (again shows 100mbs which it should). However when I hook one of my EAP225-Outdoor POEs up , the switch powers the unit but does not display as the port being active which in turn the AP connects to one of my other APs via mesh instead of independently.

 

 

As you can see for Port 3 - notta ziltch- but you can see in the image below it is powering the AP?

 

I have ran a new Cat6 cable 3 times to this AP which is only 25 feet away from the Switch's location. So I am at a lost unless there is something I am missing. Yes, I also updated the firmware to the latest version. Just a bit mind blown by this issue since the AP works perfectly fine with a POE injector. Actually the AP is working but with MESH not independantly as I want it to.

 

Any help with this would be great!

Disregard, issue has been resolved. Had a fault in the power wiring where the switch was plugged up at. Repaired and working fine.

Honestly I don't think I would have found it if it was not for my UPS backup alerting me of a fault in the outlet. 

 

Once I replaced the outlet and secured the electrical wires thats when I noticed the switch started to perform as it should.

 

My farm house is much older , being built in 1958 so there is still some (a couple of outlets) odd wiring that exist. Someone replaced this outlet before with a ground fault outlet but it was not property wired.

 

Do the TP-Link switches have a ground fault or power regulator notification built-in? If not that may be something to consider having added in future products.

Interesting, but how you can find it's the power wiring issue? It enlightens me that we also need to consider the problem from the power source including the power outlet and power wiring when it's related to power. Thanks!
