Model: EAP225-Outdoor
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

Hello All,

I have used the EAP225-outdoor APs to create MESH'd networks to extend the wifi reach of the wired APs and this has always worked well.

I have never tried to connect a switch to one of the wirelessly connected (MESH'd) APs to connect devices wired to that switch to the network.

To lay this out in detail, I have a use case where I need to connect non-wifi enabled devices (printers and such) to a network where there is no practical way to run wire from a switch for those devices back to the router. I can, however, connect an EAP225 AP to the router and then install a second EAP225 AP at the location of the non-wifi enabled devices connected wirelessly to the first AP to provide a wifi connection through the wirelessly connected AP to the router.

The question is, if I connect a switch to the 2nd (wirelessly connected) AP, will devices connected to that switch be able to connect to the router via the wireless connection between the 2 APs?

Thanks for any help!

Yes, devices connected to the switch can also reach to the router.
