CPE710 - How is "Feed only mode" used?

Model: CPE610
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version:

My question is actually related to the CPE710 but the model is unavailable from the drop-down menu.

I read from the CPE710 Installation guide (https://static.tp-link.com/2020/202001/20200119/7106508556-CPE605CPE710_IG.pdf) that "The CPE device without the reflector installed provides outdoor -to-indoor Wi-Fi coverage with the Feed only mode".  Is this mode used when confiiguring the device as AP Client Router (WISP Client)?  Could you please explain uses of the feed only mode?

Thank you.

Dear @wilsonperez,

My question is actually related to the CPE710 but the model is unavailable from the drop-down menu.

Thank you for the feedback, the CPE710 model is available from the drop-down menu now.

Is this mode used when confiiguring the device as AP Client Router (WISP Client)?  Could you please explain uses of the feed only mode?

The Feed Only mode is meant to work with a low Antenna gain, making the CPE710 feed the wireless signal at the backside with larger coverage, in this case, you don't install the reflector on the CPE710. As indicated in the picture below, it could be suitable for the application scenario of providing outdoor-to-indoor WiFi coverage.

To get into the Feed-Only mode, we need to set the Antenna to Feed-Only under wireless basic settings.

Dear @Fae ,

In feed only mode, what would be the Antenna Beamwidth(according to the manual, in normal mode the Antenna Beamwidth is 9° (Azimuth)/7° (Elevation)), but it didn't mention the Beamwidth for feed only mode.

Also, in feed only mode, what would be the radius/distance it can cover?  Can it cover more than 50ft?

Please advice, thank you.
