All,

That is correct.  EAP's are just wireless access points.  Remember these are designed for business use.  Business have centralized DHCP and routing functions (devices/servers) which are separate from wireless connectivity (aka access points / AP's / WAP's / EAP's).

But you can certainly use them in a home, small, or large business.  You just need a separate device (like a router) that performs the NAT, Routing, and DHCP functions.

Most home "routers" are really 4 or 5 functionalities all in one:

1) DOCSIS Modem (for Cable)

2) Firewall / NAT

3) Router

4) DHCP

5) AP

6) Ethernet switch

7) MOCA bridge (for FIOS)

The TP-Link EAP products (EAP225/245/etc) only provide "AP" functionality.  TP-Link, and others, certainly sell a variety of business class hardware which perform many of these other functions with dedicted solutions (Gateway, Switch, Management appliance, etc.)

@PONMANI

No, I looked at the manual which does not show any configuration option to enable an internal DHCP Server. So based on this, I believe this means the answer is No it does not support running one internally. It can only be a DHCP client to a separate server you provide.
