Model: TL-ER6020
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 2.0.3 Build 20200623 Rel.39031

Hi!

I have the TL-ER6020 configured with 2 WAN ports.

While WAN Port 1 is my primary one using a VDSL connection, WAN port 2 is meant to be used as failover with a LTE-Modem.

Load Balancing is disabled, Link Backup is configured with WAN 1 as primary, WAN 2 as secondary to pop in when any primary WAN fails.

In theory, this should work, in practice the WAN 2 port is still being used, although he primary WAN 1 is online.

Doing a tracert to www.google.de show the WAN-IP of the LTE connection on WAN 2 as the second hop...

Is there a setting that I've missed?

Thanks in advance!

Dear @Turnspit ,

Load Balancing is disabled, Link Backup is configured with WAN 1 as primary, WAN 2 as secondary to pop in when any primary WAN fails.

The Load Balancing is required to be enabled globally if you want the link backup function to take effect.

Here is the FAQ about the Link Backup function for your reference.

Hi same problem here. If I flag load balancing there's a packet loss, e.g I'm in a vpn link 1 goes down the link 2 goes up the vpn goes down too because loss of packet Instead if the flag is off the link 1 goes down the link 2 goes up and I have no packet loss but when the link 1 goes up I'm connected always to the link 2
