EAP235 wall LAN port connected device not showing up in Omada device list
Hi all,
When I'm connecting a wired device such as a smart TV directly to one of the eap's LAN ports, the Omada app is not showing up the connected device (not even under wired device tab) although TV works fine with access to streaming apps etc.
just wondering if anyone else is encountering this issue and if normal. All wireless connections to the eap are showing up in Omada app.
thanks for any advice!

Hi there, the Client list will only show the wireless device, not the wired device. No matter on Standalone mode or the Controller mode.

@Xmuni I am having the same issue! This must be a bug rather than a feature. Surely, the gateway can see all the connection. I connect via a wired connection to the EAP 615 wired port and get an IP from the gateway but Omada says this ip is not in the list. That's just poor! Why do i need a controller which manages the gateway if i don't see and configure all the clients on the gateway?

Check out their latest firmware if you use 235 too.
There was a thread. The issue's about EAP235-Wall, TP-LINK provided a download link for the beta. It seems that they have updated the firmware on their site.

I have a slightly different problem now but the original problem was resolved by updating the switch software. I didn't realise at the time why my switch update was failing: I had to do it gradually - could not go to the latest version directly. I already had latest software on EAP.
Switch:
TL-SG2008P v1.0
Firmware Version: 1.0.2 Build 20210806 Rel.55686

Read the Notes before updating. Some models don't support going directly to the latest.
1. For TL-SG2008P(UN) 1.0 and 1.6.
2. This firmware is applied to Omada APP of version 3.0.x or above.
3. Please upgrade the switch to the middle firmware Build 20210407 first before upgrading to this firmware or a later one.

yep, indeed I saw that message eventually when I understood that I really need to update the switch after reading other posts. As you can see above now the switch is on the latest firmware after doing it in 2 steps.
