Issues setting up Facebook Wi-fi
I would like to chat to a specialist in setting up Facebook Wi-Fi on a EAP225 AC1350.
I have been following the instructions but there are some things that are not fitting in place.
- I could not find a later version of the firmware on the South African TP-Link site. I was able to fine 5.0.3 Build 20210316 Rel. 67358(4555) on the US site.
- After Upgrading the firmware as above I thought it would give me the option for Facebook Authentication, but still not showing.
Your assistance is appreciated.

Hey
Facebook authentication requires the EAP to be managed via a controller, either software or OC200/300
The EAP is only an EAP and doesn't have online server capabilities required for portal authentication types (of which facebook is one). To do this you would need the controller online and adopt in the EAP, from there the controller can establish and offer portal authentication for you

As long as the EAP and controller can talk on the same LAN / VLAN then they don't specifically have to be on the same location/internet connection
I have a number of sites that the controller is central and the sites remote, this works fine. However it is generally easier to just have the OC200 on the same LAN as the EAPs, the OC200 isn't a particularly expensive device (around €65 / $75 US) and this will offer you a lot more control of the EAP. If you have a spare server or machine somewhere you can use the software version for free
Like most business grade hardware the omada EAPs are designed to be controller managed for full functionality.
Once setup this needs to be running constantly. The controller also provides the web interface / apache type server that users access to facebook authenticate. A totally cloud version is on the card, but its not available yet (to the best of my knowledge)
