HP Elitebook 8470P knocks EAP225 off the network
Hi all,
I have a HP Elitebook 8470P laptop that under normal circumstances is connected to the LAN only via WiFi. This laptop is running Linux Mint 20.1.
This has worked flawlessly for years until one week ago when I introduced an EAP225 WAP to the LAN as our new and only wireless access point on the network. Since then I have seen what appeared to be many intermittent EAP225 device crashes where the EAP225 removes itself from the network and I have now narrowed the problem down to this laptop. This problem seems to occurs when the laptop is suspended, later rewoken and upon reconnecting to the EAP225.
Once the EAP225 SSIDs have effectively vanished, my process for getting them to reappear is to CAT5 cable connect the laptop to the poe switch that powers the EAP, start up Omada Controller software running on the laptop and this manages to re-adopt, re-provision and revive the EAP225 back to life to the point where it's SSIDs are visible and where WiFi clients are once again able to reconnect to it.
This problem occurs when using either 5ghz or 2.4ghz channels.
The EAP225 is running the firmware 5.0.3 Build 20210316 Rel. 67358 which is the latest available at this time.
Does anyone have any idea what might be going on with this and what I might do to stabilize things?
Many thanks,
Joe
