Hi,

I have the following problem at TP-SF1008P:

When connecting three video cameras (3*5W=15W) red LED lights signaling power higher as 46W.
Current consumption from the power supply is 0.3A (<15W total).
If I connect the fourth video camera, the 4 port is disconnected.
Looks like TL-SF 1008P not delivering enough power for cameras.

Did anyone else have this problem and if so how did you solve it?

Hi all,

I solved the problem!
For those who encounter this problem. Probably the switch which I have is defective.
I reduced the value of four resistors on each current output from 1 ohm at 0.5 ohms. My problem was solved.
Not the right way but it is enough for my application.

Seems this problem existed in SF1008P V1, I suspect the Power management is static and defined by PoE class so that it could beyond the max power consumer easily.

Hi Antonio,

Indeed, it is version 1.7.
To work with 13W per output should have 0.33 ohm resistors.

according to the instruction on the website of TP-LINK, i think version 1.X still belongs to V1. For example, if your camera is POE class 3, SF1008P may output the maximum power within class 3 as 15.4W.
