Model: CPE220
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version:

I have two houses. That two-house distance is 0.5km. First house has Fiber internet with a TP-Link wireless router. The second house can get the first house TP-Link router SSID. But the signal is weak. So I want to use TP-link CPE220 at the second house.

I real question  >> Can connect directly TP-Link router SSID with CPE220 Repeater Mode and Can I use first house internet?

Actually, CPE is equipped with directional antenna as it is designed for point-to-point long-distance network transmission, its wireless signal is mainly focused on its front panel and has a very limited 60 degree angle, we can say that there is almost no signal on its side and back panel. If you use it on repeater mode, the performance may not be so good, and it requires that both the front-end Internet source device and client device should be all within cpe WiFi angle.

You can refer this link to see cpe WiFi angle:

For long-distance communication, we will recommend you to set a point-to-point connection.

Which means you will need two of CPEs plus one AP or wireless router and a clear line of sight.

The connection should be like Router----AP CPE)))(((Client CPE----Another AP.

One CPE should connect to the router in the main house to extend wireless signal to the other building, while the other CPE should be installed in the other building to receive the signal from the 1st CPE.

As the 2nd CPE will work under client mode which means to transfer wireless signal to wired signal, so it will not broadcast wireless signal.

If you need wireless signal in the other building, you need to connect another AP or wireless router after the 2nd CPE to broadcast Wi-Fi.
