TL-R605 port 8080
Hi,
Want to configure service "Virtual Server" port on my TL-R605 router WAN, port 8080.
It is impossible.
There is filtered service there and service just not work.
Worse is that on LAN side on 8080 there is nginix page just open to LAN.
Found something called Web Authentication that have 8080 configured, but it is disabled!
What is going on there ?
How can i get my 8080 port on WAN side working ?

I have only one WAN interface so no mistake here and ... it was more complicated.
WIth disabled 'Web Authentication' as below, router is listening anyway on:
tcp 0 0 0.0.0.0:8080 0.0.0.0:* LISTEN
That was clearly visible on LAN side - there was nginx page.
Above data are from diagnostic file generated with 'System tools'--> Diagnostics --> Remote Assistance --> Diagnostic Information --> Export
Bin file can be opened with notepad.
After blindly enabling then disabling 'Web Authentication'-->Settings-->Enable, port 8080 is no longer occupied.
Maybe it is firmware glitch that checkbox not show real service state.
Anyway upgraded already to v1.2.0.
P.S. Wanted to add picture but get Post error about illegal links attached :-)

I had the same problem with the "Virtual Server" not working despite trying various ports and configuration. I factory reset the router and then configured the feature again, only to see it work right away. I can't explain why factory reset allowed it to work but that was the fix for me.

Choose the right WAN where you egress.
Internal IP is your device IP, better to make it static. And make sure it is set to static before you open it up.
Internal Port is the port that your device use.
External port, make sure there is no conflict on 8080 and put 8080 there.
This is the config.
If that does not work, make sure that your ISP is not blocking any. There is no issue with the port forwarding as far as I know. I've done many port forwarding myself and did not run any issues so far.

Could be that you mess it up. Something not right on your router that stops/blocks you from that. I helped some people with their port forwarding. I only check the port forwarding part and I don't care about other stuff. If you have tweaked other stuff, that could stop the port forwarding successful.

@lacrimal You need to use the upload button to post pictures on this forum. You cannot just paste the screenshot here. So, you can either change the port to a none used one or you disable that like what you described.

@lacrimal Can confirm all and for the ER605 (1.2.1) cycling Authentication->Authentication Settings->Enable closed the port. It was already not enabled by default. Cycling killed the service.
