Model: EAP660 HD
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version:

I recently got an EAP 660 HD access point. I updated to the latest firmware from the support page for my hardware version v1.6.

https://www.tp-link.com/us/support/download/eap660-hd/#Firmware

Now the router shows hardware version as 1 on the device information page after logging on to the AP.

I checked the download for v1 of the AP and it seems both the files are exactly the same for v1 and v1.6.

Is this normal? The AP seems to working fine even after update.

In short YES.   The hardware is exactly the same :)

TP Link use the first number as the version, second as the location for manufacture (they have 2 locations worldwide)

so   v1.0   is   version 1 hardware, main factory

and   v1.6  is version 1 hardware, new second factory (denoted by the 6)

basically same hardware and firmware, different factory thats all.  I know strange but its way it is!
