Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 2.1.1 Build 20230115 Rel.77774

Hello,

I just bought this router and setup so far worked flawless. I have an L2TP client to LAN VPN Tunnel established and it works. My client pool is 192.168.10.10 - 192.168.10.20 and the local IP for the client is 192.168.100.128. I can see the tunnel in the tunnel list and I can access LAN clients via IP such as 192.168.100.41. However when I try to access an IP with a defined port such as 192.168.100.41:5001 the connection times out. Am I missing a port configuration? Or something else? This worked fine on my previous edge router.

Thank you!

  @Bistromatic

If you try to access the 192.168.100.41:5001 from other PC in the local LAN, can you access?

Have you tried setting a port forwarding rule to test? For the port 5001.

@Virgo I can access the client at 192.168.100.41:5001 from any PC on the LAN. I can also access https://192.168.100.41 via VPN tunnel and get to the website. Just port 5001 does not work which I need for admin access to the NAS. The endpoint for my VPN tunnel is on LAN at 192.168.100.128. Port triggering and virtual servers only allow me to select WAN as the interface.

  @Bistromatic

What if you set the VPN IP Pool as same as LAN IP pool?

You can change the VPN IP pool to 192.168.100.X and test it.

@Virgo thank you for your help!

I contacted tech support directly and they said they tested it and it works for them.

I just return the router and go with an EdgeRouter again. I just installed it today and it works flawlessly.

Thanks again!
