Hello,

I need a Wireless Lan Controller for 6 APs (TP-Link EAP) but I dont like the cloud services.

I would be use the OC200 only locally.

Internet is required for OC200?

Can I only use the controller locally?

  @z3n0

The OC200 is capable of local-only operation (it doesn't not need internet or cloud resources to do the AP control). Normally it just lives in your Management VLAN.

Of course, you may also want to actively discourage/prevent it from reaching the internet (some ACL's should take care of any attempt to reach out to the world).

The controller is needed for Fast Roaming, but whether the switch is managed or standalone should not matter.  All the magic happens between the AP and the Controller.

The 7212 has a controller built into it, so yes. Unfortunately it is underpowered and the firmware lags the discrete function devices. I do not recommend the 7212 approach at this time.

Can I chose anyone Business switch with PoE (es 2008p) or does have same performance problem? Also the switch does have the WLC integrated?

  @z3n0 The switches are the most solid part of the Omada solution, so no issue there.

For a hardware controller, you have the OC200, OC300 standalone options  the 7212 router+switch+controller.  You can make your own hardware controller with a VM, Container, or even Raspberry Pi

The 2008P is perfectly fine, I use them often.

Have the switches (as TL-SG2016P or TL-SG2218P) an integrated APs controller?

No switch has an integrated AP controller.

The Omada switch must have "Controlled mode" active to allow OC200 of manage the network or it can be work with STandalone mode? I would like that OC200 manage only the EAP and they roaming.
