Model: ER605 (TL-R605)  
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version:

I have an existing functional network Omada controlled network  with

1 TP-link Switch
1 OC200 Omada Controller
3 TP-link APs

When I try to add the ER605 router, but connecting the WAN/LAN1 port to the switch it does not Adopt.
What's the proper steps to take to:

a. first get the router under the control of the OC200
b. configure the router to replace the existing one.

login to router in stand alone, set ip and username/password.

then adopt router, it will fail first time, press retry and enter username and password you created in stand alone

  @Quist Connecting the factory defaulted router's LAN port to the switches uplink should allow it to be discovered by the controller.

  @d0ugmac1 I am still having difficulties. Is there a special "uplink" port on the switch? Here's what things look like from the standpoint of the OC200 controller:

Or do I need to manually first configure the router to have an IP address that is on my LAN (192.168.2.0/24) and then give the OC200 the credentials I setup via the Quick Config menus?

The error message says: device does not respond to adopt commands.

Just as an anecdote to this issue.  I just experienced this exact error yesterday.  It appears my 'omadad' process crashed on the router...though everything else is up and working (DHCP, SNMP, IPsec etc and the router functions as it should...for now...the memory continues to creep and I expect other processes to start dying shortly).  A power cycle alone should bring the router back in line once the device has rebooted.  Plan C would have been to just factory default the router and re-adopt from scratch.
