Model: OC200
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.26.3 Build 20230906 Rel.36269

- We have set a fixed IP address to a PC via DCHP and later added a new network card (2.5GB).

- I booted the PC with the network cable now attached to the new network card.

- It got a new IP adress assigned.

- I changed the MAC address of the DCHP reservation to the mac address of the new card.

- I rebooted the PC.

- It still reveices the same IP address from the DCHP server it original got assigned and not the fixed one.

No matter what I do: removing and recreating DCHP the reservation entry, turning it off and on. Forcing a DCHP release on the PC or rebooting the PC. The IP address does not change to the requested fixed IP.

It seems the IP address of the clients are somehow cached. There is no way to forget the IP on the Omada controller. Also if I remove the network cable the client is still listed as connected for some time. I also tried to wait untill the client was not listed anymore and then reconnect the network cable but it does not work.

Is there a way to force a restart of the DCHP server?

Router: TL-ER7206 v1.0 Firmware 1.3.0

Omda OC200 V1 Controller: 5.12.9

Switch: TL-SG2428P v4.0  Firmware: 4.0.6

Other TP switches connected to the main switch but not omada capable.

  @AurelioS

Upgrade the firmware of your router to 1.4.0 and retest.

Ok, the DCHP Lease Time was set to 2 hours. After those 2 hours, the IP address changed to the required fixed IP address.

My issue is now "fixed" but is there a way to speed this up? E. g. would a temporary reduction of the lease time be effective at all?
