Model: SG2210P
Hardware Version: V5
Firmware Version: 5.20.0 Build 20230818 Rel.72032

Today my OC200 controller showed that a new firmware for my two TL-SG2210P V5 switches was available, version 5.20.0 Build 20230818 Rel.72032. With this version the model was renamed to SG2210P (without 'TL-') and the version was renamed from V5 to V5.20.

After the firmware update my OC200 controller displayed different (wrong) icons for the two switches in the web interface. Also the Omada app shows no icons, only the default icon with three dots.

Can this be fixed?

(By the way, in general the icons of Apple iPhones and iPads are regularly also showing the default icon with three dots instead of an icon of an iPhone or iPad. Also other devices like laptops do not show properly. Why is this and can also this be fixed structurally?)

I also have this as of today on my TL-SG2008 V4 (changed to SG2008 V4.2) and TL-SG2218 V1 (Changed to SG2008 V1.2). All day I have been chasing intermittent network problems as well, which I cannot nail down, but something is definitely wrong.

I cannot find any reference to these firmwares anywhere - have they been mistakenly applied?

@WM1 - have you had any inexplicable network issues since the upgrade, or is everything OK except the icons?

Hi @WM1

For the app issue, report it to the Controller category and Hank will take care of this request and feedback.

Commonly, clients are showing as the three dots and we don't recognize the type of the device. About the switch shows up as this, this was reported on the Controller category before.

@Hank21 @Clive_A Is there any information on these firmware versions we have noted? I cannot find them referenced anywhere, and it seems odd they would change the name of the switch and also the displayed hardware version. It is not clear what changes are included. Thanks.

Hi @Landfall2624, until now I don't seem to have any network issues but I will pay attention and will let you know in a few days.

@WM1 Thanks. Not sure if it was the 2218, or the 2008 as I don't have time to debug or beta test (I'd sign up otherwise) but after multiple attempts to fix the issues, rebooting switches etc, only going back to 1.1.8 on the SG2218 and 4.0.7 on the SG2008 has instantly resolved my issues. Worth noting, if you do start to see random issues /problems with connectivity on the network - don't waste any time, just roll back.

Hi @Landfall2624

It's just that TL-SG2008 V4 belongs to the Jetstream switch and SG2008 V4 belongs to the Omada switch, which are basically the same in terms of functional software.

@Landfall2624 I have had some strange network issues too, remembered this thread and reverted my TL-SG2218 V1 back to 1.1.8 Build 20230602 Rel.73473

and indeed the firmware builds seem a bit odd:
from: 1.1.8 Build 20230602 Rel.73473

to: 1.20.0 Build 20230818 Rel.72032

@RBL Thanks - that helps. Between your report and @WM1, it might be reasonable for me to conclude that the TL-SG2008 switches are OK with the 4.20 update, and it is my TL-SG2218 switch that threw a wobbler and was causing me issues after the 1.20 update. Although, having spent half a day going round in circles trying to diagnose the problem I'm not sure I am ready to update my SG2008 switches again quite yet, until it is clear what the update is for!

@Hank21 - On the face of it, that appears to be two of us that have had issues with the 1.20 Update on the TL-SG2218 V1 switch. Is there anything in the update that might cause this / give any clues? In terms of the issues I had - very difficult to pinpoint. My TL-SG2218 is my 'main' switch that everything comes back to before the router - but I was seeing intermittent connectivity to the internet from my devices including my main PC, and also between devices on the network. I run a number of servers / services at home (Hubitat, home assistant, various dashboard etc.) and run a monitoring tool on another device that gives me 'uptime' - this also reported connectivity losses/downtime for all of those devices/services very frequently at different times for brief moments of time (ping loss, unable to connect to web front end).

  @WM1

same here with icons, on both 2218 and 2008, but as of yet I have not noticed any network issues but will post back if I do
