According to the release notes, I should have DPI available to me, but I don't see the tab for the analytics.  I do have IDS/IPS but not DPI.  I am using the OC200 with the latest firmware version...is DPI only available in standalone mode?

@GeminiSpy same Problem here but with Software Controller

EDIT: Seems to be that the OC200 currently not supporting DPI (LINK REDDIT)

Omada Controller Version 5.13.23 as Docker Container
ER605 v2.0  with Firmware 2.2.4.

Router and Controller reboot is already done, but no data published

No Reportings for DPI or issiues in any LOGS

Ah, thanks for that Reddit link. That's lame about the hardware controllers not supporting it. I wish they'd make a controller with the specs to support. The OC200 is a bit laggy as is anyway.

  @GeminiSpy yes it is sad if you can't get the full potential from the software when the hardware is lame and outdated

so if you want get rid of the laggynes get your hands on an raspberry4 and install the Omada software controller in my opinion it is the best value

  @GeminiSpy

kinda crazy that it says that in the controller changelog.  laugh

  @GeminiSpy I recently updated my hardware OC200.  Still no DPI.

Here is my OC200 details:

  • Controller Version:  5.13.30.20
  • Firmware Version:  1.29.4 Build 20240304 Rel.54362

I have a few EAP650's running Firmware Version 1.0.13 Build 20240131 Rel. 45057

Still waiting patiently!

  @BeekerMD03 I just upgraded my ER707-M2 and still no DPI :(

The IDS/IPS slows my bandwidth to a crawl, so I disabled it.  Perhaps DPI would be the same way.

@GeminiSpy

Appreciate the insight.

Similar to what others have posted on this thread and after reading Reddit about this same topic, I am thinking I might just end up doing a self hosted controller on a spare RaspberryPi I have lying around here.  When I got the OC200 originally, I figured that was easier for me to manage.  A sort of "throw money at the problem" type of deal.  I guess that only lasts so long though.

@GeminiSpy Hi, DPI on ER707-M2 is available. But it decreases the performance for inter VLAN routing extremly sad

With DPI off I get:
0.00-10.00  sec  2.72 GBytes  2.34 Gbits/sec

In both directions.

With DPI on:
download: 0.00-10.00  sec  1.06 GBytes   908 Mbits/sec
upload:     0.00-10.00  sec   402 MBytes   337 Mbits/sec

I preformed the measurment with standard iperf3 from vlan A to vlan B over the 2.5G LAN/WAN Port on the ER707-M2 V1.0 with software version 1.2.2

My controller run on Docker in version 5.13.30.8

I was a little bit shocked about this low throughput. DPI is nice to have and I like it. But not with this reduction of throughput an the local LAN.
